The flute

I think it is time for some new music that we can use while meditating.

The first one is a quite short one, only 2.34 min, but i like it a lot. I think it’s a Arabic flute playing, but I’m not completely sure.

The Second one is a melody played by a young boy. He is also “playing” the Arabic flute. This one is also i rather short one,  2.29 min.

The third one is another Arabic one with the flute. I find the flute very relaxing while meditating. This one is a longer one 5.54 min.

Witch one is your favorite? 😀

Hola Amigos!

In our History class we have stated with meditating for 5-10 minutes before we get going with history. However, we have had some trouble concentrating so yesterday we tried a method were we counted our breaths. This actually worked very well and almost everyone was concentrated and counted to 100 breaths (about eight minutes.)  This method is actually for kids, so they don’t get to restless and lose their concentration… but it works for adults and teenager too. 😀

Also, yesterday i brought my “nailmat” for history class so my classmates could try it!

Mrs. Fitz, Ash, Stef and Charles! 😀

Be nice to yourself!

By this point we all know that meditation can help you mentally with stress etc. Now, there have been studies which show that there are a lot of people who are hard on themselves. The studies tell us that people who are good with supporting people around them are often the ones who are the most harsh on themselves. People like this keep criticizing themselves, because they are afraid of becoming self-indulgent. Also, the studies show that by meditating, people can start feeling a lot better about themselves, because they take a few minutes with some “self quality time” and it actually makes them feel better.

Then I also read that a person that feels this way and keeps being nice and understanding to everyone in her/his surrounding except to themselves are often overweight. However, after starting to meditate they start feeling better about themselves and lose weight.

If you recognize yourself in this, just try meditation! It might work.

a mat with nails?

That’s right, lying on a mat with nails is a type of meditation!

Some people state that lying on a mat can help you release pain and cure illnesses. There are no scientific facts to show that this is true, but wouldn’t that be great? My step dad uses a mat sometimes and he says that it is very relaxing once you get used to it.

Doesn’t it look comfortable?

A less brutal version, also the Christmas present of the year in Sweden 2009!

leeeeeeet’s…. meditate!

Okay, now that we have some background information, I think it is time for us to start meditating!

Let’s start out easy…

  1. Put on some comfortable clothes, like sweatpants and a shirt.
  2. Sit down on the floor with your legs crossed; make sure your back is straight then clasp your hands together.
  3. When you feel that your position is stable, close your eyes.
  4. Let your mind be free.
  5. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
  6. Keep doing that for about 20 minutes or more, and afterwards you’ll feel like a new person.

This meditation helps you to relax when you feel stressed out. So when you are doing history homework and feel that you need a break, take 20 minutes off and do this. You’ll feel much more motivated and clear in your head.

It says that Chinese meditation can help you improve your wisdom and it also helps you to get control over you body. This is something very different from other types of meditation like yoga, witch focuses on sustain parts of your body in order to achieve meditation while Chinese meditation is all about guiding your mind in a specific direction.

Chinese folk music

Music used while meditating is often the Chinese folk music which is most common a combo between Yang-Qin / Chinese dulcimer, Ruan and Bamboo flute. These instrument makes music like this:

First post!

People have been studying meditation for years. The Chinese meditation is one of the oldest kinds along with Taoist meditation, wuji qigong and Chi gun.

While people have been meditated for thousands of years in the East, people haven’t been doing it at all in the West. Until then-twenty years ago and now it’s very popular. Chinese meditation focus on the breathing, harmonizing the body and the mind, until the whole body is in sate of meditation by deliberationt.
